加德满都814日讯 尼泊尔千禧年挑战账户(MCA-Nepal)今日签署总价值1.545亿美元的两项重大合同,将在千禧年挑战公司(MCC)援尼协议框架下建设180公里高压输电线。

经过国际竞标程序,安杰利克-斯基珀联营体(Angelique-Skipper JV)中标拉特马特-新达茂里标段(标段2)(RatmateNew Damauli section (Lot 2)),韦巴-萨拉萨尔联营体(WAIBA-SALASAR JV)中标新达茂里-新布德沃尔标段(标段3New DamauliNew Butwal section (Lot 3),合同涵盖输电线路设计、安装、测试及调试全过程。

温格尔在签约仪式上表示:“通过签署这些合同,MCC重申了美国对尼泊尔发展目标及双方共同关切的持续投入。我们荣幸能与尼泊尔合作伙伴携手改善电力供应稳定性,并促进区域电力贸易一体化。

乌帕德亚雅部秘表示,政府将继续支持该项目;与此同时,比什特重申,尼泊尔千禧年挑战账户(MCA-Nepal)将通过持续合作,专注于推进这一“国家荣誉工程”(National Pride Project)的实施。

Milestone marks renewed momentum for MCC Nepal Compact after foreign aid review

KATHMANDU, AUGUST 14 The Millennium Challenge Account-Nepal (MCA-Nepal) has signed two major contracts worth US$154.5 million to construct 180 kilometers of high-voltage transmission lines under the Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC) Nepal Compact.

The agreements, awarded after a competitive international bidding process, went to Angelique-Skipper JV for the RatmateNew Damauli section (Lot 2) and WAIBA-SALASAR JV for the New DamauliNew Butwal section (Lot 3). The contracts cover the design, installation, testing, and commissioning of the transmission lines.

The signing ceremony in Kathmandu was attended by MCA-Nepal Executive Director Khadga Bahadur Bisht, MCC Acting Deputy Vice President John Wingle, U.S. Embassy Nepal's Charge d'Affaires Jason Meeks, Finance Ministry Secretary Ghanashyam Upadhyaya, and representatives from the Nepal Electricity Authority.

"In signing these contracts, MCC reaffirms the United States' investment in mutual priorities and Nepal's development goals," said Wingle. "We are honored to work alongside our Nepali counterparts to improve the availability and reliability of electricity in Nepal and enhance regional power trade and integration."

"This milestone is more than a construction contract; it's a tangible symbol of the United States' enduring commitment to Nepal's growth and prosperity," said U.S. Embassy Nepal's Chargé d'Affaires, Jason Meeks. "Through this partnership, we are not only creating power lines and economic infrastructure but also accelerating Nepal's long-term growth. The MCC compact is a cornerstone of cooperation between Nepal and the United States. We're proud to be moving forward together to benefit all citizens of Nepal."

Secretary Upadhyaya expressed the government's continued support for the program, while Bisht reaffirmed MCA-Nepal's focus on delivering the National Pride Project through sustained collaboration.

The MCC Nepal Compact represents a landmark $697 million investment in Nepal's long-term economic development, laying a foundation for increased private sector investment. Through its Electricity Transmission and Road Maintenance Projects, the compact is designed to boost connectivity and unlock economic growth by strengthening critical infrastructure, enhancing cross-border energy trade, and improving Nepal's transportation network.
