First Nepal Study Center inaugurated in Beijing

KATHMANDU, July 17: In a bid to promote Nepal´s culture, education, politics and economics among the Chinese people, the first Nepal Study Centre has been established in China, on Wednesday.
  Amid a function held at Hebei University of Economics and Business (HUEB) in the Chinese Capital, the NSC was formally inaugurated by Nepal´s ambassador to China, Dr Mahesh Kumar Maskey and HUEB President Prof Ji Lainggang, the Chinese state news agency Xinhua said in a latest report.
  "The main objective of the NSC is to introduce Nepal´s culture, education, politics and economics, among Chinese people so as to foster better understanding between the two nations and improve Sino-Nepal ties," the report says.
  While addressing the function, Nepal´s ambassador Maskey said the NSC was a continuation of the fine tradition of friendship and cooperation between China and Nepal.
  "I am sure, the establishment of this center will prove a giant step in the long journey aimed at nurturing the understanding between China and Nepal," the ambassador further said.
  A few institutions are currently active in Nepal aiming to promote Sino-Nepal ties, such as the Confucius Institute and the China Study Centre.
  "The organizations are helping Nepali people to understand the northern neighbor," the report adds.
